Our team helps our Asian clients access the Australian commercial sphere. We are experienced in assisting clients with all aspects of commercial law – in particular with successful IPOs and ASX listings – and we also help Asian companies enter the Australian market.

Our team have strong relationships with key people in the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the ASX. We are also known for our close relationships with foreign commercial partners, and we have strong ties with prominent accounting and fund management firms with presence and capability in China, India, and Vietnam.

  • advising a Forbes-listed high-net-worth individual who has invested A$1.5 billion in many large-scale, iconic commercial and residential property development projects in Victoria and Queensland;
  • advising a client who owns the largest glass processing business in his home country with aspirations to establish a business that will invest A$2-10 million in innovative glass technology in Australia;
  • advising a client expanding his professional ICT business and setting up the Australian company as the new global headquarters of a group of companies providing end-to-end integrated and adaptable business management applications for medium enterprises; total investment: A$5-15 million;
  • advising a client investing A$5-10 million to build a platform that offers a variety of solutions for Vietnamese-Australian business communities, from flexible workspaces to concierge and professional services, with the long-term vision of fostering Australian and Vietnamese economic interests;

  • advising a Chinese group in obtaining a controlling stake of an ASX-listed company (works performed include due diligence negotiation, legal documentation, Chapter 6 advice and ASX Listing Rules implications);
  • advising a large meat manufacturer from China in the acquisition of a series of cattle farms (due diligence, negotiations, structure advice for tax and FIRB purposes, FIRB advice and approval, legal documentation);
  • assisting a large Chinese development company in the acquisition and disposal of a development site in South Melbourne (size around 55m)
  • advising various Chinese entities in their proposals for ASX listing / backdoor listing; and
  • advising various Asian entities in their acquisitions of businesses and assets across various industries such as education, information technology, medical technology, agriculture, childcare and aged care, healthcare, and energy and resources.
