As a commercial litigator, Evelyn has acted in a wide range of disputes – including acting for clients in general commercial disputes, estate litigation, trust disputes, retail leasing matters and litigation arising from corporate and personal insolvency.

Evelyn has significant trial experience, particularly in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal.

Evelyn’s breadth of expertise spanning various disputes has enabled her to provide strategic and commercial advice to clients across a range of industries.

Experience

  • acting for a landlord of commercial premises in defending injunctive proceedings issued by a tenant in the Supreme Court of Victoria and successfully settling the matter;
  • acting for both claimants and executors in proceedings issued under Part IV of the Administration and Probate Act 1958 (Vic), plaintiffs in proceedings seeking orders for statutory wills, and in applications to rectify wills under section 31 of the Wills Act 1997 (Vic); and
  • acting for minority shareholders by issuing oppression proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria, briefing an expert to conduct a valuation of the business in question and negotiating terms of settlement.

Pro Bono and Community Work

Evelyn has provided pro bono advice to a not-for-profit humanitarian organisation that undertakes relief work internationally.
