As a former banker, and with more than 20 years experience in the law, Andrew brings a unique perspective to executing large and small M&A and financing transactions. He has also been active in project development, having completed many major power purchase agreements and other project arrangements. He has particular expertise in energy and renewables and biotech.

Experience

Andrew’s experience includes acting on:

  • development of a gene therapy for cystic fibrosis (as CEO)
  • for an aluminium company on negotiating large PPA’s, state government support for the Victorian operations of and Supreme Court litigation for an aluminium company
  • project financings of oil and gas assets, renewables, ports, gas pipelines, LNG facilities, inside the fence mining power plants, coal fired power stations, transmission assets, rail assets and mines, including as part of competitive bids, together totaling many billions of dollars
  • development of wind and solar farms
  • various PPP projects, including in hospitality and healthcare
  • negotiating offtake arrangements to support a $500m gas fired power
  • the regulator on arrangements for a large windfarm in Victoria
  • various M&A transactions including for a $5 billion energy retailer and restructure of a $6 million accounting business
  • numerous corporate financing facilities across a range of industries including international bond issues
  • Authored ‘A Borrower’s guide to the APLMA Syndicated Facility Agreement and Project Finance documentation’
